Feel it before you buy the set
Choosing a switch from a forum thread or a video is guesswork — the weight, the travel and the sound are things your fingers decide, not your eyes. A tester puts the whole range on the desk so you can go through them in a couple of minutes.
Try it with your own keycap
The stems are standard MX, so a keycap from the board you actually use pulls off and goes straight on the tester. That matters: the same switch feels different under a thin PBT cap than under a thick one.
