A full-size board, built like a custom one
109 keys in a 100% ISO layout: function row, navigation cluster and a full number pad, with twelve of the top-row keys doubling as media controls.
The frame is ABS over a steel plate, and the whole thing weighs 1530 g — heavy enough to stay put on the desk rather than slide while you type.
Three connections, three devices
The 2.4 GHz receiver runs at a 1000 Hz polling rate, which is where you want it for games. Bluetooth 5.1 pairs with up to three devices and switches between them from the keyboard, so a computer, a phone and a tablet can share one board. USB-C is there when you would rather not think about batteries at all.
Every key, yours to decide
The board runs open-source QMK firmware, and the Keychron Launcher web app configures it from the browser — remap a key, record a macro, build a second layer. Nothing to download, nothing to install.
Because the firmware is open, what the keyboard does with your keystrokes can be read by anyone who wants to check. Use the latest Chrome, Edge or Opera and connect over the cable to open the Launcher.
Layers that take the rattle out
Between the plate and the case sit layers of IXPE, PET and EPDM acoustic foam. The IXPE softens the bottom-out, the EPDM supports the switches, and the steel plate underneath gives the feedback and the weight. The result is a lower, flatter sound instead of the hollow one a bare plastic case makes.
Swap a switch in seconds
Every socket is hot-swappable, so switches come out and go back in without a soldering iron. Almost any 3-pin or 5-pin MX-style switch fits — Cherry, Gateron, Kailh and the rest. The board ships with Keychron's own Super switches, rated to 50 million presses, with a transparent top housing that lets more of the backlight through.
Keycaps that stay matte
Double-shot PBT in Keychron's OSA profile — an OEM height with a spherical dish, so the fingertip sits in the key rather than on it. Double-shot means the legends are a second piece of plastic, not paint, and PBT resists the shine that ABS picks up after a year of use.
Mac and Windows on one board
A switch on the underside moves the board between macOS and Windows, and a second set of keycaps is in the box for the modifier keys that differ. Two separate layouts can be stored on the keyboard, one per system, so nothing has to be reconfigured when you move between them.
Steadier big keys
The stabilisers under the spacebar, shift, enter and backspace have reinforced walls around the stem. That holds the keycap squarer to the switch, which is what stops the wobble and the tick you get from a loose stabiliser on a long key.
Backlight aimed at you
The LEDs sit on the south side of each switch — the side facing the typist — so the legends light up rather than the space behind them, and Cherry-profile keycaps clear them without blocking the light. There are 22 backlight modes, and hue, saturation, brightness and speed can each be set separately.
Three angles to sit at
Flip-out feet give 3.43°, 7.26° and 10.06°, and the curved OSA keycaps follow the hand rather than sitting flat. On a board you use all day, the difference between the right angle and the wrong one is felt in the wrists.
