Walnut, all the way round
Not a wooden trim on a metal case — the frame and the bottom case are both walnut, with CNC-machined aluminium only on the side panels. The grain runs differently on every board, it warms to the hand in a way aluminium never does, and at 890 g it is the lightest of the three K2 HE bodies.
Gold anodised against the grain
The aluminium side panels are anodised in a restrained gold, chosen to sit with the deep brown of the walnut and the matching keycaps rather than to stand apart from them. It is a quiet keyboard to look at, which is unusual in this category.
TMR sensing, and what it buys
A magnetic switch closes no contact: a magnet moves and a sensor measures how far. TMR sensors do that with less drift and less current than the Hall-effect sensors that came before, which is what allows 0.1 mm resolution over a 0.2 to 3.8 mm range on a keyboard that still runs for weeks between charges.
Set where each key fires
Actuation anywhere between 0.2 mm and 3.8 mm, per key, to a tenth of a millimetre. Rapid trigger releases a key the instant it starts to rise. One key can hold four commands at four depths, analogue gamepad output reads how far you press, and last-keystroke prioritisation decides which of two opposing direction keys wins.
Layered, so the wood works with it
EVA foam under the PCB, an EPDM film between plate and board, and a PET film across the bottom case, all on an aluminium plate inside a walnut shell. Wood damps differently from metal, and the result is a fuller, softer bottom-out than the aluminium version gives.
Double-shot PBT, in two browns
OSA profile double-shot PBT in deep brown and a lighter tone, chosen to match the walnut. The legends are a second piece of plastic rather than paint, so they cannot wear off, and PBT does not develop the shine that ABS picks up under a fingertip.
Hot-swappable, Gateron Double-Rail only
Switches lift out and push in with no soldering iron. As on every K2 HE, the replacements have to be Gateron Double-Rail magnetic switches — magnetic switches are not cross-compatible the way MX-style mechanical ones are.

2.4 GHz at 1000 Hz, Bluetooth across three paired devices, or the USB-C cable, and the same behaviour on macOS, Windows and Linux — one keyboard for the desktop, the laptop and the tablet.
