2.4 GHz at 1000 Hz, Bluetooth 5.1 across three devices, or USB-C.
Every key remapped in the Keychron Launcher web app, with nothing to install.
Gateron and Keychron low-profile mechanical switches, changed without a soldering iron.
Eleven millimetres tall without keycaps, seventeen with them, and 525 g in total. A low-profile board asks less of the wrist because the hand does not have to climb to reach it, and it fits in the same sleeve as the laptop — which is the difference between owning a mechanical keyboard and travelling with one.
2.5°, 4.2° or 6.5°, on flip-out feet. On a board this thin the angle matters more than it does on a tall one, because there is no wrist rest doing the work.
Switches pull out and push in with no soldering. One limit is worth knowing: the K3 Max takes Gateron and Keychron low-profile mechanical switches only — QMK does not support low-profile optical switches, so the optical version of the same shape is not interchangeable with this one.
The keycaps are LSA profile — low, spherically dished and angled, so the fingertip sits in the key rather than sliding across it. Double-shot PBT: the legend is a second piece of plastic, not paint, and PBT does not develop the shine ABS picks up with use.
The long keys — spacebar, shift, enter, backspace — run on stabilisers redesigned for the Max series, pre-lubricated so they land evenly instead of clattering on one side.
A toggle on the board moves it between macOS and Windows, and the extra modifier keycaps for both systems are in the box. Twelve of the keys in the top row double as media controls.
The board runs QMK firmware, and every key, layer and macro is remapped in the Keychron Launcher web app — nothing to install, and the mapping is written into the keyboard so it travels with it. Twenty-two RGB backlight modes are set the same way.
The K3 Max is built fully assembled in four ISO layouts. Ask us which are in stock.
