A small mouse that still fills the hand

The M3 V2 is a compact right-handed shape with a gentle curve along the back and a textured panel on both flanks. The grip pattern is there so the mouse can be lifted and set down again without gripping it hard, which is the thing that tires a hand out over an afternoon.

The strongest sensor PixArt makes

The 8K version carries the PixArt 3950: 100 to 30 000 DPI, tracking to 750 IPS, and a lift-off distance settable at 0.7, 1.0 or 2.0 mm. It also tracks on glass of at least 4 mm, up to a 1000 Hz report rate — a glass desk stops most optical mice dead.

125 Hz to 8000 Hz, on a button

The report-rate button steps through six levels on 2.4 GHz and on the cable. At 8000 Hz the mouse sends its position every 0.125 ms; at 125 Hz it barely touches the battery. Both are one press away, which is the point — the same mouse for a match and for a week of email.

Kailh GM 8.0 under the main buttons

The left and right buttons sit on Kailh GM 8.0 micro switches, rated at 80 million clicks. The click is clean and short rather than mushy, and 80 million is a number that outlasts the rest of the mouse.

The 8K receiver, and the small ones

The 8K version ships with its own 8K receiver. The 1K versions come with two: the smallest Type-C receiver Keychron makes, and a Type-A one — plug in whichever fits the machine in front of you and it works immediately.

Programmed in a browser tab

Keychron Launcher is a web page, not an installer. Open it in Chrome, Edge or Opera with the mouse on the cable or the 2.4 GHz receiver, remap the buttons, record macros, set DPI steps, polling rate and lift-off distance, and write it to one of five profiles stored in the mouse. Nothing to download, and it works the same on Windows, macOS and Linux.

RGB, on the version that has it

The 1K PixArt 3395 build carries lighting in 16.8 million colours, set in the Launcher like everything else. The 8K and 4K versions leave it out — the battery goes into report rate instead.
